AlphaSmart Neo Project

Students, Teachers, Administrators, and Parents share their perspectives in Year One and Year Two of this initiative.

This collaborative initiative between the Calgary Board of Education and Renaissance Learning investigated the Neo as a potential resource to assist teachers in differentiating instruction and learning opportunities for students. It also examined students' academic achievement and attitudes towards writing and keyboarding using the Neo as a learning technology.

NEO - by AlphaSmart

Information was gathered on the practice of teachers who engaged in designing learning experiences using the Neo and the SmartOption Mobile Lab http://www.renlearn.com/neo/NEO2/labs.aspx, and examined the effect that it had on their daily teaching practice. Professional Learning opportunities assisted teachers in embedding this technology into their daily teaching and learning practices.
