How to Research

The purpose of this web page is to assist professionals in the Calgary Board of Education in conducting effective research. This web page will guide you through the research process, from selecting a topic right through to informing others of your findings once the research project has been completed.

Before You Begin!

Before you start to work through the steps in the research process it is imperative that you ensure that your research is permitted by Calgary Board of Education, Research and Innovation. Typically if a CBE employee is the researcher, they "usually" do not need a security clearance, (teachers, principles etc). Nonetheless, if you have any questions please contact Research and Innovation.

All external researchers and research assistants that are in contact with CBE schools, students, staff and parents must have the proper security clearances prior to approval being granted. This includes joint research proposals where the CBE and an external researcher submit a proposal, the external researcher and assistants must have security clearances.
