We offer support for and infrastructure to estabish an integrated approach to personal and professional learning

Connecting teachers across the system with similar interests and learning goals in professional learning cohorts and collaboration teams to leverage shared learning.

Support for schools in making the move to Learning Commons through the staff of Innovation and Learning Technologies.

Access to Professional Resources

Browse through available print resources in person to choose titles of interest, or browse the selection of print and digital materials online using eLibrary. Print materials can be delivered to your school via inter school mail. Keep up to date on what's new in the professional resources by following us on CBE_EdResources on Twitter at @CBE_EdResources.

Access to New and Emerging Technologies in our learning environments

Take advantage of opportunities for hands on exploration of a wide range of learning technologies for both staff and students, and to use them in an safe environment with support from Innovation and Learning Technologies staff.

Collaboration Space

We offer bright, open, flexible setting for students and staff to engage in small group or larger collaborations and creation.

Presentation Space

A wide range of presentation options include multi-touch SMART boards as well as large and small configuration projection areas for instruction, construction or shared learning.

Personal and Professional Learning Cohorts

Be part of cohorts of colleagues interested in achieving personalization of learning through the use of educational technologies. Meet face2face, synchronously and asynchronously. Connect your students with students across the city through involvement in technology rich learning.

Outreach tool kits will be available to book for participating teachers and students.

ILC Explore Program

The ability to access inclusive technologies to explore in your own, authentic settings on a trial basis with support from the specialists at Innovation & Learning Technologies (ILT), and to share learning that comes from the experience in order to build capacity across the system.

Learning Commons Classroom Immersion (In-House, Hands-on Experience)

Bring your class and immerse yourselves in the learning commons experience including access to technology to support teaching and learning, such as:

  • iPod touch
  • iPad 2
  • laptops
  • video and still cameras
  • inclusive technology tools and apps
  • and more! (new devices, software, and services are added daily)

Opportunities to connect and collaborate with other classrooms are also available.

The Innovation Wall

Opportunities to celebrate and share successes and student work across the system through this innovative new communication tool in the link between the Ed Centre Tower and the Carl Safran Centre.
